For Children

There are a variety of opportunities for kids at Sherman Street to learn about God’s story, have fun, and get to know each other better.

​We take the safety of our youth very seriously. All volunteers who work with them are background-checked and trained according to a child safety policy managed by our Safe Church Team.

Nursery (Birth to Age 2)
Nursery is provided in the "middle earth" area during the service. 

Praise and Play (Ages 2 and 3)
Two and three year olds are dismissed during the second part of the Sunday morning service for a time of praising (songs! story!) and playing (crafts! toys!) together. The Praise and Play room is located downstairs in the “middle earth” area of the church.

Children’s Worship (Age 4 to Grade 2)
During the second half of the worship service, kids ages 4 through second grade are invited to participate in a time of worship specifically designed for their needs and abilities. They gather in the community room downstairs for singing and then divide into classrooms to hear, see, and respond to a Bible story.

Church School (Grades 3-5)
During the school year, Church School meets before church on Sunday morning from 9:20-10:20a. After a time of learning, which is divided by grade, all students come together for a large-group time. [CHURCH SCHOOL IS NOT MEETING DURING WINTER/SPRING 2022]
