Homeroom, Sundays at 9:20am Learning opportunities for adults, led by Shermanites who know things! These classes meet for 1-4 sessions and cover broad topics as teachers invite us to think about the intersection of life and faith from their diverse areas of expertise.
Tuesday Morning Bible Study, Tuesdays, 9:30am A group that gathers every Tuesday morning. Pastor Tony leads discussion of the upcoming sermon text and a time of prayer with and for each other. All are welcome. Meets in downstairs community room from 9:30-11:00, and coffee and cookies are provided.
Coffee and Fix-It Crew, Wednesdays, 9:00am This group meets for coffee and chat time at nine, then moves on to projects around the churchincluding repairs, organization and improvements. They are also available to help congregants and community members in need. All persons welcome, handy or not, even just for coffee. Coffee Break, Thursdays, 9:00am A group for adults to chat,discuss books, pray for each other and support one another. Meets on Thursdays from 9:00-11:00am. Child care, coffee, and food are provided. Open to all, primarily attended by women in all stages of life
WERQ Dance Fitness, Saturdays 9:00am WERQ is an aerobic dance workout set to pop and hip hop music. This class is open to all, at no cost! Just bring a water bottle and wear clothes and shoes for working out. Meets in the Community Room from 9:00-10:00. First time? Come a couple minutes early to get more details and meet instructor Anne Zelada.
Small Groups There are a variety of small groups at Sherman Street, from general fellowship groups to groups formed around an activity like film discussions. If you’re interested in joining a small group, look for the small groups’ brochure that comes out in September or contact the church office. In the winter we plan “Mini Small Groups” that meet for a few weeks around a specific topic or activity and are a great way to get to know people.
Anti-Racism Team Our Anti-Racism Team educates and empowers the church on issues related to social justice and anti-racism. It also conducts justice audits of proposals brought to church leadership.
Friendship Group A community of worship, fellowship and mentoring for adults with intellectual disabilities. The group meets two Mondays a month at 7 pm. For more information, please contact the church office.
